I have just been down to PCworld and bought the suddenly reduced PROVIEW 17" TFT monitor reduced from 375 to £297!!!
Its simply amazing, i have gone from a 15" ibm monitor to this simply breathtaking display with 0.26 dot resolution and support for up to 1280x1024 at 75hz!!!

AND!

THERE IS NOT ONE DEAD PIXEL ON THE WHOOOOOOLE DISPLAY! i tested it instore.

One thing to ask - It was a bit blurry until i adjusted the settings and it was clear, but then i decided to use microsoft CLEARTYPE, it seems blurryer with this ON

would you recommend switching it off, or fiddling around until i get the same quality as without it??

oh so happy steve

Well done for today and enjoy the TFT.

Great to hear that someone else is impressed with a TFT monitor. I have used Cleartype to give the sharpest text display with no blurryness at all. Had my Taxan for a year now and, as with you, not one dead pixel.

Yes, but can you you check it before purchase and bring it away with you as everythingsuk did?
Surely thats worth a bob or 2.

..worth a bob or two! its absolutely perfect, i opened microsoft word in the store to check for dead ones, and ran every coloured background, even in the corners where he sed they can cluster! NOT ONE!!

he was very very helpful also told me something VERY interesting

ALL packard beel stuff is MADE BY NEC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALL OF IT
even monitors are NEC
hence high prices!!

also you wont find a packard bell anywhere but in a dixons group store!
