Windows macro(?) programmer

Does anyone know of a shareware program that can repetitively playback mouse/keyboard movements with conditional processing.

I'd like it to bea ble to learn by example, but also to be able to write scripts.

Primarily I want to use this to extract data from a spreadsheet, use this as a key into a database I have, to see if the database has a corrseponding entry; if it has to copy data out into the spreadsheet, otherwise to not that there is no match.

What spreadsheet? If Microsoft Excel, go to Tools/Macro/Record new macro and it will do exactly what (I think) you want.

I do want exactly that functionality, but able to be used across windows to other programs.

Eg I have a database of UK companies, which can only be accessed using the proprietary viewer that comes with it.
