Securing wireless with MAC addresses

  dark-horse 12:31 04 May 2005

I have a wireless pc that I would like to secure access so only my laptops (2) can gain access to the files. I undersand that one can add mac addresses of the laptops to the pc, which is the most secure way. Is this true and how can I do this??? Many thanks in advance.

Normally you secure wireless networks (typically a wireless router) by mac address filtering.

I haven't heard of MAC address filtering on a specific PC/Laptop as-in restricting access to a specific PC/laptop versus the whole wirless network via a device.

Also try network forum too as this is a networking query.
