OS X Maverick won't install

on my 2010 iMac 10.6.8 Hardware Overview: Processor Speed: 3.06 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 4 MB Memory: 4 GB Processor Interconnect Speed: 5.86 GT/s Boot ROM Version: IM112.0057.B00 hard drive capacity 500GB SMC Version (system): 1.64f5with Snow Leopard, it tells me: you cannot install it from this hard drive, after copying it to my huge external drive got the same announcement on the screen... what can be wrong? Bought installation file on EBay and downloaded it from seller's google drive...

Ring Apple on 0800 107 6285. They will send you a link to install El Capitan.
