Please can anyone help me. I use win XP Professional I am on learndirect course and at home need file msjvm4.79 (microstft virtural java machine) to work on line. Where can I get it? Sun versions will not work on this course.

Having looked at the Google entries for this click here it seems VERY remiss of learndirect to insist on the use of an unobtainable (no longer obtainable from Microsoft - their words) piece of software.

What a cock up!

Excellent as VoG™'s link is, it doesn't alter the fact that learndirect are wrong in insisting their students use otherwise unobtainable software. Not everyone on a learndirect course will have access to this forum or VoG™'s undoubted expertise.

followed link by VOG, but after installing, still get error message

To display this page correctly, you need to download and install the following components

JAVA virtual machine

This is despite having virtual machine on my computer!

Link sends me back to microsoft who do not now support this program.

In Internet Explorer, Tools/Internet Options, Advanced tab, make sure that "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled" it ticked, click Apply then OK. Restart the PC.

All three java boxes are ticked already - still no luck. How do I alter the settings for microsoft virtual machine. I found it once, but cannot remember where.
