Macros and Office 2007

I have Office 2007 and ever since I have installed it I can't open any files that contain Macros that have been created in earlier versions of Excel. What can I do about this? I suppose new isn't always better!!!

You need to click on the Office logo, top left. Then Excel Options then tick 'Show Developer Tab in the Ribbon'.

Then in the Developer menu click on 'Macro Security'.

Have you tried the help options. If you type macros in there it gives you advice as to how to run macros. here's a selection. I can't copy the lot obviously.

Click the Microsoft Office Button , and then click Excel Options.
In the Popular category, under Top options for working with Excel, select the Show Developer tab in the Ribbon check box, and then click OK.
Note The Ribbon is a component of the Microsoft Office Fluent user interface.
To set the security level temporarily to enable all macros, do the following:
In the Macro Settings category, under Macro Settings, click Enable all macros (not recommended, potentially dangerous code can run), and then click OK.

Now I have done that will that work on every file or just the one I selected? Also should I need to send this to anyone do I have to find what Excel they have? For example if they use Office 2000 I can't send this 2007 version.

Save as *.xls or make that the default save file type.
