Is it possible to search WAN for a MAC address?
IP is not static.

Download and run (only takes a couple of minutes) SIW click here

then click on Network Information in left-hand column to see MAC address.

Only using multiple pings and some packet monitoring software, as the MAC address will be part of any response from a remote PC.

don't think this is what I am after.
I want to be able to 'find' my router by MAC address if the IP changes from remote location over the internet.
Any more ideas?

Use DynDns instead click here

BTW don't use your router's DynDNS function for it unless that model is on their `approved` list, they'll stop your service if the router sends too many update requests, use the free client they provide.

My sky Netgear had DynDNS setup. Not on list but will see how it goes. This is exactly what I was after. Cheers :-)
