How can i retrieve my pictures from iPhoto if the app is not opening

After updating my macbook pro to the 10.10.3 version, the iPhoto app seem to be replaced with a new app, "Photos". The problem is that the iPhoto app is not opening anymore. Whenever i try opening it, it is suggested that i update the app. When i try updating the app, it says that the item is not found in the Lebanese Store. What do u suggest doing to recover my photos?

The first question is: Are you based in The Lebanon?

The second question should be: From where did you download your update to version 10.10.3?

Yes, and I'm using the lebanese store. I downloaded it from the app store.

I did read that if you want an updated version of iPhoto the best way to achieve it is to uninstall iPhoto and then the updated version should be available in the App Store for a free download. I have removed iPhoto from my iMac and it is definitely available in the App Store.

Anyway why not just use the Photos app. It is easy to use and much better than iPhoto.

...forgot to say that your photos are still there and viewable on Photos.
