hi, i was wondering id any one can help. Whenever I visit a webpage that runs a java applet such as uploading pictures on facebook or even checking the 'do i have java?' section on the sun java website my firefox closes without warning. if i use IE or chrome the application just wont show up. I've read similar problems on numerous forums but no one seems to have a solution. The odd solution that gets suggested either simply doesn't work or its too technical as I'm just your everyday basic pc user. I've tried downgrading and upgrading both my firefox and java still nothing.

any ideas??? pleaaaaaaaaase help

I would go to control panel - add remove progs and delete firefox. Reboot your pc and then download the latest version of firefox you can find I am using version 3.5.4 at the moment and this could well include the latest updated jave.
