Anyone know what these are like?

I need a cheap monitor.

How much?

I can recommend this brand in the low price bracket click here

and this click here

Both come with 3yr mfr warranties, if the emachine is from DSG retail (currys, dixons, pcworld etc) it wont.

A mate of mine is selling his for 40 pound.

I know Tescos sold them, not sure how much they are new tho.

If it works OK, £40 is a steal for a 19" TFT. If it's a mate, can you not borrow it for a while to see how it performs/suits what you use it for? For me these things would matter - needs to be widescreen, has to have a DVI connection & reasonably low response time - 8ms or less.

I've got the 1st monitor lisa02 suggested & it's been excellent for the last 18+ months. However, Scan is doing a better monitor (by the same company?) for £94 delivered - click on the BUY link at click here for the £93.94 '19" Hannspree New York' TFT monitor.
