Connect wii mote 2 imac by infrared

I have found out that it is possible to connect wii remote to mac by bluetooth and use it as a mouse but it is not accurate at all as the pointer goes down to the bottom right of the screen and i have no control.
The program that you use is called DarwiinRemote. I am using a 27" intel based imac in which I believe has a hidden infrared receiver by the apple logo. A lot say that it is more accurate using infrared. Can someone tell me how to connect the wii remote to my mac via infrared please.

Old iMacs had IR but I am unaware of the latest ones having it. It is certainly not shown on the Tech specification. click here

Forget what I previously said I was having an elderly confused moment.

Of course the iMac has an IR receiver Apple Remote works on IR

It actually states on so near the bottom of my link.

Go to System Preferences > Security and under teh General Tab the last entry relates to IR from theer you can pair with a device.

Whether the WII remote is supported is another matter.
