Booting a 98 machine

Does anyone know how I can clear the following messages when booting up a 98 pc?
Cannot find a device file that may be needed to run windows or a windows application.

The windows registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this device file, but the device file no
longer exists.

If you deleted this file on purpose try uninstalling the associated application using its
uninstall or set up program.

If you still want to use the application associates with this device file try reinstalling
that application to replace the missing file.

vredir.vxd and msnp32.dll keep coming up too.

Thanks

You need to RUN msconfig, click on the SYSTEM.INI tab and delete the line that refers to the error program, you will not get the error anymore.

If they have uninstalled something, then the uninstaller hasn't done it's job properly that's all.
