I dont't know if anyone has seen this news story from BBC's Technology section of their website but it is very interesting.
Creative Technology are trying to get a US Court to ban Apple from selling and marketing their I-Pods in the US.

Surely this is absurd and Creative can't stop Apple from selling their "fantastic I-pod" quoted from BBC news website in the USA just because it is extremely popular with people and then Creative have admitted £62 million losses due to the plunge in MP3 player prices

Absurd on the face of it...

But it is really about patents, or one specific patent in this case. Patent law; complex, yes, but rarely absurd. It all hinges on whether Creative actually has a legitimate case or is just blowing smoke. Which will remain to be seen.
