Is 4GB enough for me?

I'm hoping to get a Macbook Pro or Macbook Air, possibly a 4GB one due to budget restraints. I'm wondering though if this is enough? My current setup is a Windows laptop and I use Photoshop and Illustrator on a daily basis as I'm a graphic designer. Other software I use is Spotify, Microsoft Office (thought I'll probably switch to Mail once I have a Macbook), Skype and Chrome for browsing. If I decide to upgrade the RAM later on, is it possible to do this with a Macbook Pro or Air?

To be honest I wouldn't contemplate doing that kind of work on a 64bit machine with anything less than 8Gb of RAM.

Macbook Pro - yes

Macbook Air - short answer is no, but it is possible. My advice, given your work requirements, is to stick with a Mac book Pro and try to go for at least 8Gb RAM.

It's difficult to support so many big capacity software. Even through the storage is ok. It need more free space for cache files.
