sony xperia z ulta specs and features

The first thing that you will notice about the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is that it is flipping huge. The 6.44-inch display is laughably big, but that's the whole point of a ‘phablet'. The good news here is that Sony hasn't let it standards drop just because the screen is massive. It still boats an impressive 1920 x 1080 pixel ratio (the same as HD TVs), giving it a whopping 344ppi (pixels per inch). In short, the screen is impressive and we have every confidence in things looking truly sharp on it. Sony is billing this as the world's biggest full HD smartphone. With regards to its water and dust resistant capabilities, it's not quite as it appears. The key word here is resistant (not proof). The Xperia Z Ultra is IP58 certified, which means it can withstand being submerged in up to one meter of water and can stay there for 30 minutes. More than enough for most baths and toilets. Apart from the Sony Xperia Z Ultras size and weight, it's a lot like the Xperia Z proper in terms of its spec. Boasting an 8Mp camera with Sony's Exmor RS sensor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 16GB of internal storage, NFC and 4G LTE mobile connectivity.

The Sony Xperia Z Ultra will be entering a pretty empty phablet market right now. With its only real high-end ‘big phone' competition being the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (soon to be Note 3), and the Samsung Galaxy Mega.

A further point of interest is the price of the Xperia Z Ultra. This is certainly not going to be a cheap phone, in fact, according to the official price released in Euro it is set to be the most expensive smartphone or ‘phablet' on the market, priced at €719 which is roughly £615.
