Despite the recent rise of high-end Android phones such as the Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Z, the iPhone remains the single most popular smartphone handset on the planet. In part this was because it has been around the longest - there were smartphones before the original iPhone, but non had its combination of great build, ease of use and large touchscreen display. Latterly the iPhone retains customers because iOS remains the best all-round environment, an ecosystem unsurpassed in its range of apps and media (Android runs it close these days, of course).
