It would take how many years to watch everything on Netflix and Amazon?
If you want to know how long it would take to watch everything on Netflix and Amazon then we've worked it out and you might be surprised. Read: Netflix vs Amazon Prime Instant Video.
These days there are so many options and ways to watch movies and TV shows that it's got to a stage where it's pretty overwhelming. You can stream content on so many devices and so many providers making it almost too easy – long gone are the days of going to the video shop to rent a DVD. See: How to watch US Netflix in the UK.
This vast amount of choice got us thinking, how long would it actually take to watch it all? The numbers are huge and that's if you only look at two of the top providers: Netflix and Amazon.
Roughly speaking Netflix and Amazon Instant Video offer 50,000 films and TV episode each (note that Prime Instant Video has a lot less). That's a total of 100,000 so if we average each film and TV at one hour (many films are longer and TV shows shorter) then that's a whopping total of 100,000 hours. See also: best media streamers UK.
That's a lot but let's break it down you can get an idea of how long it would take to watch it all.
If there are 24 hours in a day, 100,000 hours is 4,166 days.
If there are 7 days in a week, 4,166 days is 595 weeks.
If there are 52 weeks in a year, 595 weeks is just over 11.45 years.
So there you have it, if you wanted to watch everything on Netflix and Amazon, you'd have to sit through a non-stop marathon for more than 11 years of your life. Of course, some of these films and TV shows are the same but it's still a monumental amount of time.
