Another new game which we've taken a look at is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for the Nintendo Wii U.

As you can probably guess from the name, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD is a Full HD 1080p version of the original which first launched on the Nintendo Gamecube way back in 2003 (2002 in Japan).

The game looks stunning in high-definition with the cel-shaded graphics and is either a chance to replay a classic on a modern console or play a game which you missed out on for whatever reason.

There's pretty good use of the GamePad which the Gamecube, of course, didn't have. The touchscreen is used to view your inventory control certain items, such as Link's Wind Baton. You can also use some weapons, like the bow, with the gyroscope in the same way as the Zelda game in Nintendo Land.
It's great on a TV but The Wind Waker HD supports off-TV Play on the Wii U GamePad.

Not everything is the same as the original, though. A new in-game item called a Tingle Bottle (a replacement for the Tingle Tuner) allows you to send a message inside and send it off into the open water. Via the Miiverse, random users will find your message washed up on the shore to read.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for Nintendo Wii U will be released this October.
