Broadcast Australia has appointed Jim Hassell as its new group Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
He replaces Graeme Barclay, who spent a decade at the helm.
Hassell is currently head of product development and industry relations at NBNCo, and will take on his new responsibilities in March.
He was previously the Chief Operating Officer at Broadcast Australia and before that managing director Australasia for Sun Microsystems.
"Jim brings excellent industry knowledge and a strong customer focus to the role. He has more than 25 years experience in the Information Technology and Communications industry with much of his earlier career spent at IBM and then Sun Microsystems," Broadcast Australia group chairman, Gerry Moriarty, said. "Graeme has been a strong leader and has successfully managed our broadcast transmission business, including the conversion of broadcast television services from analogue to digital and securing the contract with the Government to manage the clearance of the 700Mhz spectrum. "He has also lead BA's growth in critical online application hosting, public safety and private networks, site leasing and subway communications in overseas markets in Asia and North America."
