According to Toshiba, the AT100, which has a touchscreen and Wi-Fi connectivity, has been designed for surfing the web, reading emails and watching HD movies. The manufacturer claims it offers seven hours of multimedia playback from a single charge.

The tablet PC was first previewed at January's International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Users will also benefit from support for Adobe Flash, integrated USB and HDMI ports and front and back cameras for video chat on the device, which weighs 765g, along with more than 250,000 apps from both Google’s Android Market and Toshiba’s own app store, Toshiba Places.

Furthermore Toshiba is also offering a range of optional accessories for the AT100 including a MultiDock with HDMI that ensures users can watch content stored on the device through a HD display and an external case.

Toshiba said the AT100 would be priced at £379.99 and available from Amazon, Tesco Online and Comet.
