Samsung has unveiled its Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Android tablet. Here we provide the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 release date, price and specs. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4: Price UK 

The standard Wi-Fi-only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 will cost £319 at launch. Adding 4G LTE connectivity will add around £100 to the price. For an extra £100 you can buy the £399 Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Again, add £100 for 4G LTE connectivity. 

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4: Specs 

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is an Android 4.4 KitKat tablet that's available in 'Dazzling White' or 'Titanium Bronze' with an 8.4in screen, hence the name. This WQXGA (2560x1600) Super AMOLED panel has a pixel density of 359ppi, which is higher than that of its 288ppi 10.5in sibling. 

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is powered by Samsung's own Exynos 5 Octa processor, which pairs four 1.9GHz cores with four 1.3GHz cores. This is combined with 3GB of RAM and 16- or 32GB of internal storage. A microSDXC slot lets you add a further 128GB with removable memory. 

The 125.6x212.8x6.6mm, 294g (298g with 4G) Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is fitted with 8Mp rear- and 2.1Mp front cameras, with an LED flash at the back. It can record full-HD (1920x1080) video at 30fps, and supports H.263, H.264, MPEG4, VC-1, WMV8 and VP8 video playback formats. Audio format support stretches to MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, Vorbis and FLAC.

Connectivity-wise the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 supports 800/900/1800/2600+850 and 2100MHz LTE bands, 850/900/1900 and 2100MHz 3G bands, and 850/900/1800 and 1900MHz 2G bands. Apps such as Group Play, S-Note, S Translator, Samsung Link, Scrapbook, Story Album and Video Editor are preinstalled, while Gear Manager, Gear Fit Manager, Samsung Smart Switch, Samsung Level, E-meeting, Kids Mode, Kids Piano, S-Console, Hanshow, Hancell and Hanwrite are available to download.
