The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablet PC looks set to be made available in the UK on August 12.

The tech giant has only just made the Galaxy Tab 10.1 available to Brits today. However, Samsung was keen to reveal the next iteration of the tablet PC, the Galaxy Tab 8.9, "will be available in the UK later this year" although it didn't specify the release date.

However, the tablet PC has been appeared on Amazon for £605. According to the listing, it will be in stock on August 12, which means Brits will only have to wait one week before they can get their hands on it.

Apart from its 8.9in screen size and physical dimensions, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is identical to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The tablet PC features a 10.1in WXGA TFT LCD touchscreen and is powered by a 1GHz dual core application processor, with the latest NVIDIA Tegra chip. Running Google Android Honeycomb, version 3.1 of the operating system aimed specifically at tablet PCs and available in both Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi and 3G versions, Samsung says the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 supports network speeds of up to 21Mbps and offers reduced data transfer times.
