A firmware update over the weekend by Asus still hasn’t fixed the issues brought to the Transformer TF101 by its upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. UPDATE: Asus 'fixes' EeePad Transformer TF101 with ICS update... again
The popular tablet was upgraded last month but Asus admitted that it caused technical problems including random reboots, crashing, graphics glitches and battery issues. The fix has been released but doesn’t appear to have helped much.
Asus said on Facebook, "If you own a Transformer TF101 you will have received your update over the weekend. If you haven't got it already check for it on your tablet!"
Asus asked for feedback from its customers on the upgrade and the results haven’t been very positive. One user reported still having freezing and random reboots while another said there has been a small performance improvement.
The vast majority of replies to the post are users complaining of various faults. In fact, one user said they experienced no problems running ICS on the Transformer until this update.
Dominic Dorey said, "all in all I have seen nothing to suggest anything has changed........apart from the build number of the firmware."
We’ve contacted Asus to get a comment but not heard back yet.
