The UK Oracle User Group (UKOUG) is planning to launch an online guide to help businesses find out what they need to know about Oracle's long-awaited Fusion Applications.

Fusion apps, which have been on a quiet 'controlled release' since June, is expected to receive more of a fanfare at this year's Oracle OpenWorld event in San Francisco.

To coincide with the event in October, the user group is publishing an online guide that Debra Lilley, president of the council of UKOUG, says will help users in different roles to learn what they need to know about getting started with the new application suite.

"It's just somewhere for people to start, just a little tool to help," said Lilley. "We are going to have it live at OpenWorld."

She said that the guide will resemble a London Tube map, where each line represents a different role, and the stops on the line are the things they need to know about Fusion apps. For example, managers will get an overview, while developers will have information about the technology and the functionalities available.

Everyone, not just UKOUG members, will be able to access the guide once it is launched.
