More than just a cut-down or limited version of Adobe’s flagship Photoshop CS5 software, Photoshop Elements 9 delivers cutting-edge features in a package designed to make managing and editing your photos easier and more fun. Like its bigger and far more expensive brother, Photoshop Elements appears slick and professional. From start to finish, everything is made as simple as possible. It offers significantly more functionality than any other free or low-cost consumer photo-editing software.

About the PC Advisor Awards 2012
Our annual roll call of honour considers every piece of hardware and software that has passed through our Test Centre over the past year. We look for innovation and excellence, outstanding performance and value for money.
Only excellent products make the PC Advisor Awards shortlist, and we congratulate all the manufacturers represented on the list. If a product still looks great from the view point of up to a year after its first review, the chances are that it is great.
That does, however, mean that our PC Advisor Awards coverage is not necessarily a buyer’s guide – for that you should visit our Test Centre and Reviews. Some of the products may no longer be available, and in some categories they may have been superseded.
Whittling down the shortlist to pick out individual winners isn’t easy. In all cases arguments could be (and were) made for products other than the eventual winners. But winners there must be.
See techadvisor.co.uk/awards for details on our other award winners
