NBN Co has appointed three new non-executive directors to its board - Simon Hackett, Patrick Flannigan and Justin Milne.
Communications minister, Malcolm Turnbull, stated the appointees were well-established industry figures with lengthy careers in telecommunications, broadband and the deployment of linear infrastructure.
They join current NBN Co board members Ziggy Switkowski, Alison Lansley and Kerry Schott.
"This is a period of transition for the company and it will be a great asset to have a new board that brings decades of combined experience in the industry," Switkowski said.
The NBN Board is ably assisting NBN Co's revamped management team with the Strategic Review of the project that is currently underway. The review will report to the government in early December.
Hackett maintains an extensive history in the telecommunications sector as the founder of ISP, Internode in 1991. He sold the company to iiNet in 2012 and will resign from his position on the telco's board.
Flannigan previously worked for NBN Co as its head of construction in 2009 and previously worked for Skilled Engineering, which involved responsibilities for the Telstra and HFC rollouts. He is currently the CEO and managing director of his own company, Utility Services Group.
Milne previously worked for Telstra as its BigPond managing director. Prior to that, he was the CEO of OzEmail, and also worked at Microsoft and Globe Media.
