Vodafone has reduced its international call rates for prepaid customers in 12 countries in a bid to become the cheapest telecommunications provider Australians travelling overseas.
The new rates, which have a $0.23 flagfall, are charged as follows:
A full list of Vodafone's international call rates is available on the telco's web site.
Vodafone is also offering prepaid customers 250MB of data for all international recharges of $20 and above, which is valid for 30 days from sign-up. The offer runs until March 3.
Additionally, the telco will continue to offer its $1 capped calls to India, China, the USA and Singapore to customers who buy a recharge card of $10 or more. Under the same offer, New Zealand and the UK are also capped at $1 but only for landline calls, with mobile rates charged at $0.30 per minute in addition to flagfall.
Earlier this month, Vodafone added six Asian nations to its $5 daily international roaming plan, expanding the reach of the postpaid offer to China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan and Thailand.
The daily plan, launched in July last year, charges Red customers $5 per day of use, with all data, calls and sent text messages charged according to the rates of their existing plans.
