UXC Connect expects the continued rise and broader acceptance of the Internet of Things to become a big driver for business this year.
CEO of the ICT infrastructure provider, Ian Poole, points to how sensors will be embedded in multiple devices such as consumer goods, and will collect masses of data that can be extrapolated in a wider business capacity. The data generated by interconnected Internet-enabled machines is expected to provide a Big Data opportunity for companies such as UXC Connect.
"We have been working with strategic partners to leverage the potential of this data," Poole said.
In the process, businesses will start to recognise the benefits of data generated through every day business activity.
"This will require a rapid and cost effective analysis of machine data for risk management, operational intelligence, business intelligence and other business processes which will have a profound effect on efficiency and productivity," Poole said.

Mobility solutions are also expected to have an increased focus among businesses in coming months.
Poole said deployment of mobility technology, including devices and mobile device management (MDM) applications, will ramp up at businesses
"Organisations are re-evaluating their mobility strategy, and taking a step back to develop a more comprehensive strategy that is more focused on the transformation of business processes using mobility," he said.
Poole said that this strategy is being developed to be subsequently aligned with the business vision and objectives.
