Software firm Microstrategy has joined forces with CloudCentral to offer a Cloud analytics platform which meets Australian data sovereignty requirements.
Microstrategy has signed a local technology agreement which will allow it to provide its range of enterprise reporting, predictive analytics and management dashboards on a platform which hosts data onshore and is approved by AGIMO (Australian Government Information Management Office).
MicroStrategy vice president A/NZ Mark Fazackerley said it made sense for his company to create a technology partnership with CloudCentral.
"CloudCentral offers fast, reliable, secure and flexible Cloud computing services to its partners and their end customers," he said.
"Large and small businesses can be up and running in no time at all because there is no significant upfront capital expenditure or ongoing hardware maintenance as there is with storing the data in-house."
CloudCentral chief executive Kristoffer Sheather said Microstrategy's analytics solutions would allow Australian organisations and government departments to dive into their databases and mine information in a more meaningful way.
"They'll be able to see advanced analytics displayed visually, and even build apps without having to use code," he said.
Fazackerley and Sheather agree that whilst Cloud does make geography less important, Australian customers should have a local option that offers local customer service and support, as well as performance.
According to a company statement, CloudCentral meets Australian data sovereignty requirements giving its partners - and their customer's - confidence that their data is not transferred overseas.
MicroStrategy customer, Mirus Australia, has took advantage of CloudCentral's hosting services by migrating its Mirus Metrics Business Intelligence Solution for Aged Care facilities earlier this year.
Mirus director Nick Gage said his company needed a solution that hosted data onshore and was approved by AGIMO.
"Not only did CloudCentral meet this requirement, they also offered compelling service and commercial terms," he said.
"Our customers now have mobile access to enterprise-grade analytics software to help them optimize funding and the care of their residents without the need to manage technology infrastructure."
