Details surrounding the Galaxy S5 are reaching a new high with Sammobile publishing what it calls 'confirmed specifications'. The smartphone is rumoured to be announced sometime in March at a London-based event followed by a release date in April. It's been debated as to whether the Galaxy S5 will use, like the Galaxy S4 and previous models, a plastic design or a metal one. Well Sammobile says that Samsung will offer both with the plastic model costing around €650 and the metal a pricier €800; a similar offering to the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s.

The 'confirmed' specs include an AMOLED display with a whopping 2560 x1440 QHD resolution but the size is currently unclear – 5.25in is the rumour. The GS5 will also feature a 16Mp rear facing camera but it's unknown whether it will have optical image stabilisation (OIS) on-board or not. Under the bonnet will be an Exynos 6 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor; whether this comes down to LTE or the plastic/metal models or something else remains to be seen. The handset will run on Android 4.4 KitKat, no doubt heavily modified by Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom and Galaxy S5 mini will both feature a Super AMOLED display with a qHD resolution. The Zoom will have a screen size of 4.8in and both will run Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. These won't be announced with the flagship model though, instead arriving May for the Zoom and June for the mini.
