The Galaxy Note smartphone already sports a 5.3-inch screen. Rumors suggest that Samsung may be planning to bump that to 5.5 inches, under the theory that the Note's failure to overtake the iPhone is the fault of 0.2 inches. The company is also allegedly considering a 2000-inch tablet.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is among the well-heeled, well-connected invitees to the annual Allen & Company media conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. And for the 29th consecutive year, my invitation got lost in the mail.
