The UK's new super-network Everything, Everywhere has today announced that millions of its UK customers will benefit from faster internet and data speeds, in more places, thanks to their mobile network evolution plan. Everything, Everywhere says that its customers will be able to enjoy all of this at no extra cost.

The "big switch-on" (as they call it) was in autumn launched last year and its purpose was to allow both Orange and T-Mobile customers to use each other's 2G network/signal to make calls and send texts.

Next week Everything, Everywhere will start the next phase of their plan, the "big 3G switch-on". As of next week the 3G switch-on will roll-out, region by region, to all Orange & T-Mobile customers. It is expected to be a few months before all of the 3G switch-on is completed. Then all 27 million Everything, Everywhere customers will be able to enjoy and share the Orange and T-Mobile 3G signal across the UK, which will bring faster internet and data access to more people in more places than ever before.

Since the launch of the Everything Everywhere 2G "big switch-on" last year, Orange and T-Mobile customers have racked up a whopping 1.7 million days worth of calls (41 millions hours) and an incredible five billion extra texts have been sent.

As of next week, the "big 3G switch-on" will roll-out, region by region across the UK. Great news for T-Mobile and Orange customers, not such great news for the rest of us.
