RM today announced that it is the sole UK distributor for the HP 2133 Mini-Note laptop.

RM has signed a deal on an “exclusive partnership” to supply HP's Asus Eee PC-killing ultraportable. HP launched the HP 2133 Mini-Note this week, and it will become available in May, via RM. The HP 2133 Mini-Note will cost about £300.

In a note to investors, RM's CEO Tim Pearson said: "Low-cost, high capability computing devices like the HP Mini-Note mean that educational establishments can realistically aim for one computer per student.

"HP's decision to work with RM as an exclusive partner for the product is a great endorsement of our position as the UK's leading educational ICT innovator."

HP vice president David Wright said: "Small and ultra-portable, the Mini-Note PC was designed specifically to help schools deliver on the promise of affordable 1-to-1 computing.

"Lighter than many text books, the HP Mini-Note PC is easily transportable and includes a robust suite of wireless, multimedia and security capabilities. We are delighted to confirm our commitment to the education sector with this new mobile device."
