Twitter has launched a photo galleries function that automatically displays then last 100 images shared by users of the micro-blogging service.

Under the title Recent images, which appears on the right-hand side of Twitter member's pages, pictures posted by a user via Twitter, yFrog, TwitPic, Instagram and other image sharing services supported by the micro-blogging service, will be displayed. A handful of thumbnails will be visible, but a View All link is also available to see all of the image in the gallery.

Twitter said the galleries won't include videos shared on the site, and image must have been posted after January 1, 2010. Pictures are displayed in chronological order.

"User galleries on Twitter aggregate the images you've uploaded in your Tweets into an organised page where you can view all of your most recent images," Twitter said.

The launch of User galleries comes weeks after the roll-out of a photo posting function that ensures images can be shared on Twitter without the need for a third-party app such as TwitPic.
