The amount of adult spam targeting inboxes has reached an all-time low, according to Symantec’s most-recent State of Spam report.
The security firm said that adult spam – which it describes as offensive and inappropriate emails targeting over 18s – accounted for just 3 percent of the total spam sent during February.
Health-related spam accounted for 24 percent of all unsolicited messages during the period, while financial made up another 24 percent.
Overall, Symantec said that spam levels remained fairly consistent during February, and only increased slightly. It said spam accounted for 70 percent of all emails sent during the month.
