More than nine in ten (91 percent) of 18 to 25 year-olds use the web every day, says MyVoucherCodes.

Research by the online discounts site of nearly 1,500 Brits revealed 71 percent use the web for social networking every day, while nearly six in ten use the net for work purposes each day and over half (51 percent) send or receive emails every day.

More than four in ten (42 percent) shop online every day and a third use the web every day to bank online.

Just nine percent say they don't access the web every day, with 47 percent of these claiming it's because "they can't be bothered". More than one in five (21 percent) said it's because they had no need to and three percent admitted they don't have access to the net.

Of those that do use the net every day, nearly a third (31 percent) said that they spend at least 5 hours a day online. More than two thirds (67 percent) also revealed they have a job that involves using the net, with just four percent of these claiming not to access the web when they got home.

"Although I think it is quite obvious that everyone uses the internet a lot, it's still quite shocking to see the figures. Obviously the internet is a great resource to have at our fingertips, but that doesn't mean we have to use it all the time," said Mark Pearson, chairman of

"While the internet can make it easier to stay in touch with people, it does make you wonder what we did without it! It can sometimes be refreshing to turn off your phone and not log onto the internet; try it out!"
