Andriasang reports that this week's Famitsu carries with it the content of some "big announcements" forthcoming from Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi.

The biggest of these announcements is Nagoshi's formation of the "Ryu ga Gotoku Studio." For those less familiar with the Yakuza series' pedigree, "Ryu ga Gotoku" is the franchise's title in Japan, literally meaning "like a dragon." The new studio looks set to focus mostly on Yakuza-related titles, the first of which is a sequel to PSP game Yakuza Black Panther.

The new PSP title is known as Kurohyou 2 Ryu ga Gotoku (literally Black Panther 2: Like a Dragon, more likely to simply be known as Yakuza Black Panther 2) and looks set to be a similar style of game to its predecessor. It's set to release next spring, and will be playable at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show.

Finally, the studio is working on a fifth numbered entry in the Yakuza series. No details have emerged as yet, but publisher Sega is holding a press conference later today at which some details on all of the above announcements should be revealed.
