RollerCoaster Tycoon has a long history of success and is beloved by PC gamers all over the world as the spiritual successor to Bullfrog's classic Theme Park. Boasting a clever blend of creative and simulation gameplay, it's one of those evergreen titles that remains popular to this day. If you've never experienced the series, the original game was recently rereleased on Good Old Games.
Now Atari has announced it's bringing the franchise to the 3DS as RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D. The game features the classic freeform sandbox mode complete with the ability to share creations online, but also includes a new "Coaster Story" mode where players are challenged with a variety of scenarios around the world. The iconic "Coaster Creator" option is managed through a touchscreen toolset, and the simulation side of things promises to be a "challenging yet manageable take on the genre for players of all ages."
"RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D marks the return of one of the most popular game franchises and delivers an innovative, robust and unrestricted theme park simulator to the next generation of Tycoon fans," said Jim Wilson, CEO of Atari.
