That was Nintendo's response to Operation Rainfall, the letter-writing campaign masterminded by IGN user "themightyme" which aimed to convince the company to bring the Wii's "Big Three" JRPGs to American players.

Nintendo has confirmed that Xenoblade Chronicles will be released in the UK on September 2 but there's no such luck for American players -- yet, anyway. The language used by Nintendo of America is such that it doesn't rule out the possibility of the games coming to the States -- just that they won't be coming just yet.

"We never say 'never,'" wrote the company on its Facebook page. "But we can confirm that there are no plans to bring these three games to the Americas at this time. Thanks so much for your passion, and for being such great fans!"

The Official Nintendo Magazine UK reports that The Last Story will also be coming to Europe in 2012, meaning that translation and localization work is already well underway. So why no release for American players?

Now would be a good time to reiterate what Kat said the other day:
