Warner Bros. and TT Games have announced that a second Lego Harry Potter game will be with us by the end of the year.
Last year's Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 was a solid game that lacked innovation and caused us to question whether the Lego [insert movie name] franchise needed to move on and try something new. Now, TT Games and Warner Bros. have announced that they're bringing the finale of the Harry Potter series to our living rooms via the medium of computer-generated plastic bricks and minifigs. But will it revitalize the Lego series, or simply be a case of same old, same old?
"In Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7, we are giving gamers a truly epic conclusion to the most successful movie franchise in history with delightful gameplay for fans of all ages," said Tom Stone, Managing Director of TT Games. "We have built upon the first game and are giving fans even more magical abilities, puzzle solving and exploration, in addition to our distinctive brand of hilarious Lego humor and charm."
Sounds suspiciously like more of the same -- but we'll find out for sure in the fourth quarter of this year.
