No sooner do we post a roundup of Nintendo's recent Nintendo Direct press conference, than Nintendo of America confirms some further details of what North American 3DS owners can expect from the upcoming firmware update.
Besides the 3D video recording and updates to the Mii Plaza games, users of both the 3DS and the Wii will be able to access their favorite TV shows and movies via Hulu Plus by the end of the year.
Hulu Plus on 3DS and Wii will be available by paying the standard subscription fee of $7.99 per month. As on other platforms, there'll be limited advertising shown -- arguably a small price to pay for the ability to catch up on current popular shows as well as what the company describes as "classic" titles (your opinion may differ) Lost, Battlestar Galactica, The Hills and more. The service also offers a variety of movies to watch.
Nintendo hasn't yet given a firm date for when to expect the update or the Hulu functionality to kick in, but expect it "soon."
