Catherine is a strange and wonderful puzzle-adventure game that we rather liked in our recent review. Up until now, though, European players have been grinding their teeth in frustration at the fact that if they wanted to play Atlus' sexy thriller, they'd have to import a copy.

Europeans need fret no longer, however, since Catherine is coming across the pond thanks to Dead Island publisher Deep Silver. There is, sadly, no confirmed release date as yet, but it should be this year at least. The PAL territory version will release on both Xbox 360 and PS3 and feature localized text in French, German, Spanish and Italian as well as English.

Atlus doesn't have a publishing arm in Europe and other PAL territories, so past titles have come via a variety of companies. Persona 3 came from Koei, Persona 4 and Odin Sphere came via Square Enix and the Wii's Trauma Center games came through Nintendo itself -- Europe still hasn't seen a release of Trauma Team.

"We are very proud to be able to publish Catherine in all PAL territories as a Deep Silver game," said Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Deep Silver. "Catherine is something new, fresh and exciting; unlike anything else in the gaming world --- a unique mixture of genres. This agreement proves once again that games published under the Deep Silver label are not 'more of the same,' 'run of the mill' productions."

Catherine is out in the US on Tuesday, July 26.
