As far as Things You Probably Didn't Expect to See Together go, Hello Kitty and Street Fighter are probably pretty high on the list. But Capcom's decided that pursuing this bizarre partnership is more important than working on Mega Man Legends 3 -- sorry! I know it still hurts! -- and will be releasing a range of merchandise in partnership with Sanrio Inc.
"Capcom has long admired Sanrio and their ability to create memorable and cherished lifestyle brands so it is a distinct pleasure to partner with them for this new crossover line of merchandise," said Joshua Izzo, Director of Licensing at Capcom. "The combination of Street Fighter and Hello Kitty will offer fans a whole new way to experience our characters."
A borderline inappropriate, bizarre new way to experience their characters. Surely a video game can't be far behind? I'm not sure I want to be there for that.
