Over three-quarters of technolofy fans don't expect gadgets to last more than five years, says Lexmark.
Research by the printer manufacturer revealed that 60 percent of us wish gadgets were made from better materials and just 2 percent of Brits believe that the more you pay, the higher the quality you can expect from your product.
Lexmark also said a quarter of gadget fans will swap to another brand if the technology from their original favoured brand fails, while 40 percent admitted they actively sought out devices with long guarantees.
While two-thirds of us feel guilty when binning a gadget that broken, 53 percent of Brits admitted they get rid of technology that is out of guarantee rather than having it repaired.
"This survey demonstrates that longer guarantees, more than anything else, will reassure consumers about the longevity of their technology," said Paul Callow, Lexmark's marketing director, UK & Ireland.
