Dixons Store Group is holding a 100-hour price crash event during which it is offering deep discounts on many technology items. We’ve been waiting to see which deals are the tastiest. Here’s PC Advisor's rundown of the best of the online deals to be had.

To get your hands on any of the items listed, you’ll need to buy them outright and either arrange for delivery or to pick them up from a convenient store. Ignore apparent options on the offers page to reserve them. Only two items from the list of discounted products in the promotion can be bought, and you can’t buy anything else that’s also on promotion [outside the 100-hour event] in the same transaction.

The sale started at 3pm today and will run until Monday. Some items are onsale for the duration, while others - such as TVs and the Apple iPad - are available for a limited period. A helpful ticker is displayed on the webpage so you can see how much longer you have to make up your mind.

The discount percentage is shown above each item in the promotion. The deals are largely the same across the two DSG sites. However, PC World has a couple of items not found at Currys. It is offering £100 off a 64GB Apple iPad – a 26 percent discount – and 30 percent off an LG 5.1 audio home cinema system.

On the Currys site the biggest price cuts are for DVDs and games – a copy of The Matrix on Blu-ray comes in at a discount of 62 percent off and now costs £3.75. You can pick up Michael Jackson: The Experience for Nintendo for £7.99 – a discount of 73 percent of the £29.99 RRP.

Headphones such as the popular Beats By Dr Dre range are offered for half price, while at the top end of the price spectrum are a 60in LG Full HD LED TV for £999 – a saving of £500 or 33 percent. As well as Computing, Headphones and Technology sections, there’s a Household Appliances section.

Items need to bought on the spot and can only be purchased online, but DSG is offering free delivery on many items.  When we called Currys to ask about availability of a sample product – a 37in Toshiba LED Smart TV – we were told that several hundred were in stock in the company’s central warehouse.
