Gear4 has today announced the launch of the iRon, an innovative iPod dock that allows users to listen to their favourite music and get on with the laundry at the same time.
Simply fill the iRon with water and dock your iPod and it's ready to use. The iRon is designed with travellers in mind; it is cable-free, and uses the iPod's battery for power.
The proprietary SteamTempo technology allows users to dictate the pace they do their ironing as the steam jets on the iRon spray in time to the music. The louder and faster the music, the more steam is produced.
A software plug-in allows the user to see the water level and temperature of the iRon on the display of the iPod and two 6W speakers provide the sound.
"The whole 'Spray and Play' idea is very exciting," said Tom Dudderidge, managing director of Gear4. "I find that most Snoop Doggy Dog tracks on the iRon will transform the most wrinkled garments in minutes."
Keep an eye out for a review of the iRon on techadvisor.co.uk, probably about one year from now.
