Pazera Free Audio Extractor is a powerful tool for saving the soundtrack from almost any video file.
There's support for opening all the major video types (AVI, MPG, WMV, MKV, MOV, FLV, VOB, MP4, 3GP and more). The program can read many audio files, too, useful if you want to convert from one audio format to another. And you're able to save your audio as an MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG, M4A, AC3, FLAC or WAV file.
Pazera Free Audio Extractor has a good understanding of each file format. If there are multiple audio tracks then you'll be able to choose which one you need. It will then try to extract the original audio, so avoiding any loss of sound quality due to reencoding.
If you do need to reencode the soundtrack, there are plenty of options available. You might select an output format from the list, and accept the default settings; there are profiles for various standard options (Best/ Good/ Normal/ Low quality MP3, say); or you can manually choose your preferred format, bitrate, sampling frequency, channels and more. Real experts can even add custom FFmpeg parameters to fine-tune their results.
And if this isn't enough, there are several welcome extras. A "File Info" box gives you an enormous amount of information about your source files (format, bitrate, resolution, aspect ratio, frame rate, scan type, pixel format and more). If the extraction is taking a long time, you can have the program shut down your PC once it's done. And while the default interface is a little dull, you can improve this considerably by selecting a new skin: click File > Options and try another "Visual Style".
Version 2.1 brings:
•Changes in the program interface.
•New version of the FFmpeg encoder and MediaInfo library.
•Improved detection of data streams in video/audio files.
A powerful file conversion and extraction tool, Pazera Free Audio Extractor supports a host of file formats and has some useful conversion options, but is also easy enough for audio novices to handle
